The Difference Between THC & CBD
Did you know that their are literally 1000 types of marijuana Plants in existence today? These plants are known as Sativa, Indicia & Hybrids. Hybrids are a cross between both Sativa & Indica plants. Each strain has its own range of effects on the body and mind resulting in a wide range of medicinal benefits.
Sativa plant strains tend to provide a more energizing experience; a euphoric high for an uplifting cerebral effect that pairs well with physical activity, social gatherings, and creative projects and has strong odors of a skunk smell. Where Indica plant strains generally provide a sense of deep body relaxation; physically sedating for vegetating with a movie or as a nightcap before bed and tends to have a strong sweet or sour odor to the buds. Both of these plants are either inhaled or in-digested. While Marijuana contains high amounts of THC — the intoxicating compound found in THC, responsible for “getting you high” — Hemp has a very low amount of THC.
But what is Hemp? Hemp is completely different from marijuana in its function, refinement and application. Marijuana, as it is widely known, is used for medicinal or recreational purposes. Where Hemp is used in variety of other applications that marijuana just can not be used for.
Marijuana Strains & Different Plant Species
The visual appearance between the two plants is very distinct. The marijuana plant features broad leaves, dense buds, and has a thick bushy appearance. The Hemp plant, features skinny leaves that are concentrated towards the top of the plant, and grows taller and skinnier marijuana, with few branches beneath its upper portion. When compared side by side, there is a clear difference between the two plants. Most of the United States, the allowed THC-content for hemp to be classified as legal is 0.3%
Hemp and Its Broad Usages
Hemp can be used to make fabrics, textiles, rope, paper, concrete, biodegradable plastics, wood replacements and Biodiesel. In addition, the seeds of hemp are extremely nutritious and have a nutty taste that can be eaten raw, chopped up, sprouted, or made into dried sprout powder. Hemp seeds also contain a very beneficial oil that is high in unsaturated fatty acids, including an optimal 1:4 ratio of omega-3 to 6.
